Madeleine

There’s a woman, lives across the river

I see her in the morning when the air is still & cold

In the shadows

By the willows

Morning light paints the water gold

It’s a crazy sky we both live under

Every time she looks at me the sun puts out the rain

In the shadows

By the willows

I can’t wait to be with her again

Madeleine is everything I think about

Madeleine I can’t begin to figure out

    Madeleine

She’s beautiful like in a dream

Like nothing that I’ve ever seen

    Madeline, Madeline

There’s a woman lives across the river

I see her in the evening when the moonlight paints the ground

In the shadows

By the willows

She could turn the river right around

Madeleine is all I ever think about

Madeleine I can’t begin to figure out

Madeleine I’m lost for words don’t even know

Can’t bear to think she’d ever go

    Madeline, Madeleine
